The Truth About Household Cleaners: Embracing a Healthier, Greener Home
Let's dive into the world of household cleaning and uncover some eye-opening truths about the products we use every day. Keeping our homes clean is essential for our health and well-being, but did you know that many conventional household cleaners contain harmful chemicals that can negatively impact our health?

One of the most common culprits found in household cleaners is ammonia. While it's effective at cutting through grease and grime, ammonia is also a potent irritant that can affect the skin, eyes, throat, and lungs. For people with asthma or other respiratory issues, exposure to ammonia can lead to breathing difficulties.

Another problematic ingredient is bleach, which is often used for its disinfecting properties. However, the fumes from bleach can irritate the respiratory tract and contribute to indoor air pollution. Prolonged or repeated exposure to bleach has been linked to respiratory issues and can even be harmful to aquatic life when it enters waterways.

But it's not just ammonia and bleach that we need to watch out for. Many conventional cleaners contain a cocktail of chemicals, including phthalates, triclosan, and synthetic (fake) fragrances. These chemicals have been linked to hormone disruption, antibiotic resistance, and respiratory problems.

The good news is that there are safer alternatives available! Natural cleaning solutions, made from ingredients like vinegar and baking soda are effective at cleaning without the harmful side effects of conventional cleaners. Vinegar, for example, is a natural disinfectant that can cut through grease and grime, while baking soda acts as a gentle abrasive for scrubbing surfaces.

While making your own cleaning solutions can be rewarding and effective, it's not always convenient for everyone. If you are looking for a ready-to-use cleaner that combines natural ingredients, there's an easier option. The natural cleaner that I use is an excellent choice for those seeking a healthier, greener cleaning option that is both safe and convenient. It is super concentrated, so that I can refill my glass cleaning spray bottle 20 – 30 times from one 14oz bottle!  I also reuse the 14 oz bottles by adding a spray top so that I can take it on the go.

Making the switch to natural cleaning products is not only better for our health but also for the environment. Conventional cleaners contribute to indoor air pollution and leave behind chemical residues that can be harmful to pets, children, and wildlife. By choosing natural alternatives, we create a safer, healthier home for ourselves and future generations.

So, let's take a step towards a cleaner, greener home by opting for natural cleaning solutions. Whether you prefer DIY recipes or premade natural cleaners, every small change makes a difference. Let's prioritize our health by making informed choices about the products we use in our homes.

I'd love to hear your safe, green cleaning solutions.
